OOMOVA was founded by Joanne Mafunda, a qualified attorney with ten years of experience across commercial law, intellectual property, corporate governance, and cross-border advisory work.
Before founding OOMOVA, Joanne worked remotely with firms and clients across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Southern Africa. She supported multinational businesses, managed international intellectual property portfolios, worked on M&A transactions, and advised clients operating across multiple jurisdictions.
But OOMOVA did not begin as a business idea. It began as firsthand experience. OOMOVA's mission is to bridge the gap between two realities. South Africa produces exceptional professionals, but the local job market is saturated; at the same time, businesses abroad need reliable, cost-effective remote talent.
The connection between the two should not be as difficult as it currently is.
The long-term vision is ambitious: to build one of Africa's leading remote staffing companies and create meaningful global career pathways for thousands of professionals across the continent.

OOMOVA is a subsidiary of OOMY Corp, a South African holding company. We operate across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.
